Winchester 1876 Second Model Deluxe Engraved Rifle .50-95 Express s/n 23296
mfg 1882 - 26" matted round barrel; full magazine; color case hardened second model receiver, hammer, lever and forend cap; correct screwed-on second model dust cover rail; dust cover marked "WINCHESTER EXPRESS / .50 CAL. 95 GRS."; short semi-buckhorn rear & half nickel front sights; sides of hammer, lever & forend cap are factory engraved with "$2.50" of fine foliate arabesque patterns with line borders on lever & hammer; fancy American walnut stocks with H-style checkering, pistol grip with horn inlay and smooth steel shotgun buttplate. Left side of lower tang is marked with assembly number "313", "XX" and "S". Matching assembly number is found in upper tang channel of buttstock with buttplate having the assembly number "332" inside the toe. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum letter which identifies this rifle in caliber "Express" with 26" round barrel, "matted barrel, etc.", plain trigger, checkered stock with pistol grip, shotgun butt and case hardened, received in warehouse June 30, 1882 and shipped next day to Order #32468. Overall very fine condition - Barrel & magazine tube retain 95-96% strong blue with a few light spots on barrel and the outer radius of the magazine tube thinning; receiver & sideplates retain virtually all of their original case colors, brilliant in front of trigger and lower tang, bright in other sheltered areas but generally faded; dust cover retains most of its high polish blue; hammer retains vivid case colors and the lever bright case colors inside, faded on outer faces; forend cap retains virtually all of its faded case colors. Stocks are sound with light handling & storage nicks & scratches and retains most of its original piano varnish on the buttstock with about 50% on forearm showing wear at back half and on checkering. Mechanics are crisp; bore is bright & shiny.

Winchester 1876 Deluxe Rifle .45-60 WCF s/n 29790
mfg 1882 - 30” octagon barrel (2” longer than standard); full mag; set trigger; case hardened receiver and crescent buttplate; Vernier and Windgauge sights; pistol grip checkered fancy walnut stocks with “drop a little more than regular”. Receiver retains 20% case colors; barrel retains 75% blue; mag has thinning blue turning plum patina; stocks are in excellent condition with strong checkering on pistol grip and forearm checkering showing a bit more wear; mechanics are crisp; bore is bright and considered an 8 on a scale of 1 - 10. Includes Cody letter verifying all features of this rifle. Cody research of the factory records indicates only 60 of the 63,870 model 1876s produced had deluxe pistol grip checkered stocks with longer than standard barrels.

Winchester 1876 Deluxe Short Rifle .45-75 WCF s/n 45590
mfg 1885 – 22” round barrel w/British proofs; full mag; color case hardened receiver, hammer, lever & forend cap; British 3-leaf folding rear sight graduated from 100-300 yards w/gold inlay centering lines; English sporting front sight with fine blade; deluxe walnut pistol grip checkered stocks with piano varnish finish; blued steel shotgun buttplate. Receiver, hammer & lever (where exposed) retain 80% vivid case colors just starting to drift to silver with sharp edges; lever has a beautiful handmade leather cover on the bot tom edge which is old and of the period; dustcover & loading gate retain 95% bright blue; forend cap retains 50% muted case colors w/balance drifting to silver grey; barrel and mag retain 95% bright blue; stocks are in excellent condition overall with sharp checkering and retain most of their original high gloss varnish finish with some light handling marks and wear; buttplate retains 70% thinning blue; marking are sharp; mechanics are crisp; bore is bright, shiny and appears as new. Includes letter of authenticity from the Cody Firearms Museum verifying all of the features of this rifle.
